Date Bar

The Date Bar is a statistical graph, based on the current set of results, which informs a user of the distribution of documents over a period of time. The higher the bar, the more documents that were created or modified in that timeframe.

Perceptive Search will automatically pick the best time scale based on the result list. For example, result lists that contain documents that span years will have a date bar where the major sections are years. A result list where all documents are contained within the same year will have major sections of months.

Filtering with the date bar

You can use the date bar to refine your result list down to a particular timeframe. There are two methods to filter by date,

  1. Drag the sliders at each end of the date bar and drop them around the timeframe
  2. Click and drag over the timeframe you wish to filter by (do not click on the sliders).

You can adjust the filter at anytime by moving the sliders.

To remove a filter, click in the empty blocks at each end of the date bar.
